A capacity crowd of approximately 5000 political activists, progressives, Green Party stalwarts, and just plain folk crowded into Austin's Tony Burger center for an evening of speeches and music. Ralph Nader, Jim Hightower, and Molly Ivins provided the speeches; Jackson Browne and Patti Smith headlined the musical side. Activist and interest groups from around the state distributed information and sold books and supplies.
