Presidents of the Amazon Federations of Ecuador and supporters held a press conference/demonstration outside the Galleria offices of Burlington Resources to reject officially any oil exploration or development activity in the Block 24 area of the Ecuadorian Amazon. Milton Callera, President of FINAE, the Achuar Federation, signs a symbolic "eviction notice" ordering Burlington to cease and desist all oil-related activities and leave indigenous lands.
