There was a minor artillery duel the day before the battle itself. The Texians had a pair of small pieces, the Twin Sisters, probably about six-pound bore (about 3" diameter). The Mexican army had only one artillery piece on the field, a 9-pounder called "The Golden Standard." This, of course, is a replica. It's always difficult to get the flame shooting out when the gun is fired. I get it one time in twenty, maybe. This time, it worked.
